We pride ourselves on providing the framework to help our students challenge themselves, grow together, and perform as a formidable musical force.
Strong Leadership
Our band and guard programs are led by Mr. David Nommensen, Fine Arts Division Chair, Music Teacher and Choir Director for Lemont High School, and Mr. Matt Doherty, Assistant Activities Director and Music Teacher for Lemont High School. Together they take great pride in providing the highest quality musical instruction and mentorship to Lemont High School band, guard, and choir students throughout the school year. Mr. Nommensen and Mr. Doherty are supported by staff instructors, many former students and competitive band and guard members, and now music and dance teachers themselves.
Parental Support
The Lemont High School Band Parents Association (LHS-BPA), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, supports and sponsors our young musicians and guard members throughout the year with a variety of volunteer and fundraising efforts. Our goal is to maintain the highest level of excellence in musical performance and presentation that our students have come to demand of themselves. Our efforts support band camps, performances, clinics, and other expenses for the band’s 100+ members.
